BUSINESS NEWS

  • QCR Holdings reported a record quarterly net income of $36.7 million and earnings of $2.16 per share for the quarter ended September 30, driven by strong capital markets revenue and loan growth — the company also broke ground on a new 100,000-square-foot headquarters and bank branch in northern Bettendorf, a move that supports its future plans.  Quad Cities Business Journal

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Local farmers in the Quad Cities faced rising equipment costs and lower soy prices due to trade disputes, with one combine costing +$1,000,000+. Congressman +Raja Krishnamoorthi+ visited producers on Wednesday to learn about the challenges they face.  KWQC

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Iowa Department of Education has named nine teachers as 2026 Iowa Regional Teachers of the Year for their exemplary instructional practices and significant contributions to K-12 education—three are from the KWQC-TV6 viewing area. Tony Onesto from Burlington High School, Jennifer Ries from Maquoketa Valley High School, and Dawn Rheingans from North Scott Community School District were honored for achievements including successful AP art classes, bilingual curriculum development, and hands-on science learning.  KWQC

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Southbound 18th Street in Bettendorf was closed after a water main broke Thursday morning — officials shut it between Middle Road and Parkway Drive and set up a detour via 23rd Street and Central Avenue. The northbound lanes stayed open.  KWQC

HEALTH NEWS

  • Vera French psychiatrists and nurse practitioners are now trained to use Suboxone for treatment to ease withdrawal symptoms for people with substance use disorder—patients can visit the Central Park and Duck Creek clinics for an evaluation.  KWQC

SPORTS NEWS

  • Hundreds of pool players are competing in Davenport this week at the Iowa ACS State Championships at the Davenport RiverCenter. The five-day tournament features singles, doubles and team divisions of 8-ball, 9-ball and 10-ball — matches will continue through Sunday.  KWQC
