- ➤ A Davenport family set up a creative Halloween display in their New Castle Cemetery neighborhood in preparation for tomorrow’s celebrations. They built custom tombstones and added large animatronics — including a headless horseman and a burning house prop — that impressed local neighbors. KWQC
- ➤ The Quad Cities Community Foundation launched a $50K matching gift campaign—matching up to $500 per household for new endowment gifts—and it opened at 8 a.m. Oct. 28; Sue Hafkemeyer said the matched gifts will help local nonprofits keep steady funds for the future. Quad Cities Business Journal
- ➤ Members of the Optimist Club visited Jefferson Early Childhood Center to deliver new shoes and winter gear to students—each child received a pair of sneakers, a coat, a hat and mittens.
