- ➤ Veterans were honored on Sunday at the Quad City Botanical Center during the 23rd annual Quilts of Valor event—45 veterans and their families received handmade quilts with musical tributes and personal thanks. The next ceremony will be held on May 17 in Davenport. KWQC
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ The Quad Cities Regional Business Journal won 14 awards from the Northern Illinois News Association at a banquet on Oct. 30 at NIU’s Holmes Student Center. The wins include four first place honors and a General Excellence award, and they show the publication’s strong work in reporting business+social issues and technology in its fourth year. - ➤ Dawn Rheingans, a science teacher at North Scott Middle School, was named 2026 Iowa Regional Teacher of the Year and is one of nine educators across Iowa honored for their classroom impact. She was nominated by a colleague and said she feels honored by the process — the state award will be announced in January or February. KWQC
