- ➤ Visit Quad Cities will celebrate 35 years of tourism and honor community leaders at its Destination QC! event on Nov 13 at Rhythm City Casino Resort in Davenport. The event will feature guest speakers (Darley Newman, Lily Yu and Steven Pedigo) and present the Destination Impact Award and Certified Tourism Ambassador Award (recognizing significant contributions to the region's tourism). - ➤ The Moline Regional Community Foundation awarded $379k to 52 local nonprofits at a ceremony on Oct 29 at Iron — Grain Coffee House in East Moline. The funds will help support critical programs across six counties. Quad Cities Business Journal
- ➤ TMBC Lincoln Resource Center in Davenport is giving away 100 Thanksgiving food baskets filled with turkey or ham, stuffing, vegetables, macaroni and cheese and more. Interested residents must RSVP by Nov. 17 and pick up baskets on Nov. 21 from 4 to 6 p.m.—the center is located at 318 E. 7th St. KWQC
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Salvation Army of the Quad Cities kicked off its Red Kettle campaign to start the holiday season by raising funds for local families, and bell ringing at kettle sites will begin this Friday. KWQC

- ➤ Morgan Stanley broke ground on a new 30,000 square foot building at 4515 E. 52nd St.—its current branch is just blocks away in the Wells Fargo building. The Quad City Times
- ➤ Small business owners and sales teams in the Quad Cities will attend the inaugural 2026 Sales Kickoff Conference on Jan. 29 from 1-5 p.m. at the Quad-Cities Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf + early bird tickets are available until Oct. 31. Moments Performance Group will host the event + local experts Rick Davis and Dustin James will lead sessions while part of ticket proceeds will be donated to the local Alzheimer’s Association. - ➤ The Beaver Moon reached its peak brightness early this morning and shone 30% brighter than usual when it was 221,000 miles from Earth, NASA said. Local astronomers noted that stargazers saw the moon appear 14% larger than average when it rose around 4:06 p.m. Tuesday night + clear skies kept the supermoon visible all night. KWQC

- ➤ Scott County's cancer registry—part of the Iowa Cancer Registry's 99 Counties Project—will hold a discussion today to share county-specific cancer data. The event will review local statistics and inform residents about health trends. The Quad City Times
