- ➤ Today the Quad Cities are observing Veterans Day with a Welcome Home Dance at Bally’s Quad Cities in Rock Island—veterans and one guest enter free while others pay $15 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Other events on Tuesday include a parade in downtown Davenport, a ceremony in Muscatine, a ceremony in Bettendorf, and a Hero Street USA event in Silvis. - ➤ Fareway Stores Inc. launched a month-long campaign in November to help families facing food insecurity across Midwest communities by offering pre-bagged, individual, and monetary donation options at check stands—each dollar donated is matched to support local food banks. - ➤ Tammara Yates—who recalls past SNAP struggles and honors her daughter and mother—has set up a curbside food pantry along Westerfield Road that offers daily meal kits to families in need.
