- ➤ Former Davenport businessman Jim Hancock died unexpectedly on November 17 at MercyOne-Genesis Medical Center in Davenport at age 84. Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held today at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Quad Cities Business Journal
- ➤ Ten Quad-Cities organizations launched a matching program to assist River Bend Food Bank by matching donations up to $250,000 — a measure aimed at easing hunger in the region. The Dispatch Argus

- ➤ Money magazine recognized GreenState Credit Union as one of the Best Banks for 2025-26 for its excellent financial products, customer service and banking experience. The ranking was based on a review of over 275 banks and credit unions nationwide — and its local branch in Davenport is part of a network that serves more than 410,000 members in Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska. - ➤ The Amazon Fulfillment Center in Davenport is preparing for the holiday season by hiring 800 seasonal employees and stress-testing equipment for increased production. Site leader Joseph Cook said the center will boost volume by 20% to handle 17 million items over the holidays — a measure to ensure smooth operations. KWQC

- ➤ Riverdale and Panorama Park now have a new sewer system along the Mississippi River Trail near Arconic Learning Center, finished after more than seven years of work. The project was funded with federal COVID relief funds, community money and business support — it will help keep water clean and lower flood risks. KWQC
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On November 12th, MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center became Iowa’s first hospital to use a new treatment for atrial fibrillation when Dr. Mark Shen performed a procedure with the Affera Mapping and Ablation System – a tool that maps, treats, and checks heart rhythms. The new system, recently approved by the FDA, will help doctors treat the heart problem more safely. Quad Cities Business Journal
- ➤ A report from the March of Dimes shows that about 25 percent of pregnant women in the United States did not get prenatal care in their first trimester—leaving them without advice during early pregnancy.
