On November 27, Mr. Thanksgiving—Bob Vogelbaugh—and his volunteers served hundreds of free Thanksgiving meals at Mercado on Fifth for the Quad-Cities community.

Public works crews in the Quad Cities treated roads with salt and water brine Friday to prepare for a heavy winter storm that is predicted to bring eight inches to over one foot of snow.

Plumbers in Davenport warned that the day after Thanksgiving—dubbed Brown Friday—was the busiest for clogged drains as extra guests and heavy cooking led to blockages.
Bryan Parks of Northwest Plumbing said homeowners should have tossed grease and avoided flushable wipes to keep drains clear.
