- ➤ Volunteers will honor fallen veterans at Rock Island National Cemetery when the Wreaths Across America program starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 on Arsenal Island; a keynote by Lt. Gen. - ➤ Western Illinois University is seeing fewer students on its Quad Cities and Macomb campuses after enrollment dropped from 6,332 to 5,337 last fall, largely due to big graduating classes and fewer international students — the university expects a small spring decline before hopeful increases in fall ’26.
