Animal Aid Humane Society is raising $100,000 to build a new shelter at 1912 E.
First Ave in Milan on nearly two acres. Construction has begun and the nonprofit expects to complete the build-out this spring to offer more space for animals and volunteers.
Electro Freeze will relocate its headquarters from East Moline, where it has been based since 1945, to Davenport soon.
The move marks the end of an 80-year era for the company & signals a fresh beginning in its operations.
Grow Quad Cities received a three-year grant of $100,000 per year from the Bechtel Trusts and both the QC Chamber & Alternating Currents Festival were awarded $50,000 each from the RDA.
The festival will be held Aug. 13-16 in the future.
Augustana College announced Monday, Dec.
22 that it will acquire UnityPoint Health Trinity College of Nursing (located in Rock Island) pending regulatory approval, with ownership changing June 30. Integration will take about 24 months, and current students will complete their programs on schedule.
Black Hawk College received a $202,000 state grant to launch a welding program for adults learning English and earning their high school diploma + the new initiative is set to enhance local workforce skills.
