Davenport officially opened Emerson Place Alley on Thursday afternoon as part of the downtown master plan—upgrading the alley between Iowa Street and Perry Street with iron gates and overhead hanging lights to honor its Motor Row and Bucktown roots.

Local officials said a $180,000 investment funded the locally made project.
