MercyOne Genesis Bettendorf Pediatric Therapy hosted its GOPEDS version of the Arconic Jr. Bix on July 16, 2025 in Bettendorf, where 115 children of all abilities raced in events (sprints, wheelchair races, and laps) and received medals, T-shirts, and popsicles while therapists noted the event has grown each year.

Fire officials said a Davenport home on the 1700 block of Christie St. suffered major fire and smoke damage Wednesday night; crews responded at 8:44 p.m., extinguished the blaze, and the homeowner (uninjured) remains safe as investigators probe the cause.
