A Davenport nonprofit that helped revitalize the Gold Coast will close its Jipp Home & Grocery salvage shop on Gaines Street on Sept.

29—declining volunteer numbers forced the group, which rescued eight historic buildings in the Hamburg Historic District, to end its legacy of preservation. The Jipp building will be leased as a home and interior design showroom, and any unsold items will be donated to Habitat Restore.
